Role Description:

A senior customer focused presales role with a primary objective (as a member of a wider sales team) to sell software solutions to prospects and customers. The ideal candidate will be a commercially focused trusted adviser, comfortable engaging with people at multiple levels in institutions to understand (and help shape) their strategy, goals and intended business outcomes and be confident in mapping those to our solutions. You will work hand in hand with our Account Sales Executives to engage with customers and prospects throughout the customer lifecycle.

  • Help qualify opportunities, and form deal strategies

  • Carry out desktop research on customers

  • Work with customers to understand (and help shape) their strategy, intended business outcomes, business capability requirements & solution requirements.

  • Advise on best practice & latest thinking & facilitate workshops

  • Solution architecture – understand & evaluate “as is”, build roadmap to future state vision

  • Design solutions and solution architecture to meet customer needs

  • Carry out senior level presentations

  • Write bid responses

  • Lead, help prepare and carry out detailed presentations, demonstrations and workshops

Other responsibilities include developing resources and collateral, working supporting sales pipeline generation campaigns, enablement of Ellucian people or partners, and evangelism of Ellucian and Ellucian solutions, including presenting at events.

The ideal candidate’s career history will have given them a good understanding of the Higher Education industry and a broad understanding of the various functions across a University including the high-level business processes. They will have strong consulting and customer facing skills, be commercially astute and have a broad understanding of solutions and what they deliver for institutions.

  • Extensive experience working in ERP and / or Student Information Systems and/or CRM

  • Good technical background in a technology platform environment in some of the following: workflow, integration (middleware), analytics, data access, integration, identity management, security, UX and mobile.
