Ellucian Programmer Analyst in Dover, Delaware

The Sr. Programmer/Analyst uses superior programming skills and knowledge of customer business challenges to provide outstanding service to the Ellucian Managed Services client community. The work ranges from software troubleshooting and break/fix support up to full application development and spans many areas including applications, integrations and reporting. This is a customer-facing position that requires good consulting skills.
This position may require travel up to 20%.
In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing project management, leadership, needs assessment, integration services and the ability to develop a strong working relationship with the client.
The Sr. Programmer/Analyst will:
Provide creative technical input to help develop technical solutions to customer problems.
Facilitate business process review and application prototyping sessions as well as providing business process analysis and insight into best practice methodologies.
Consult with client to prototype, refine, test, and debug applications.
Apply design and programming skills across all application tiers to develop and test application, changes, interfaces, reports and scripts.
Provide quality end-user consultation and support.
Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about applications. Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise applications.
Prepare documents related to requirements and specifications for conversion, reporting, interfaces and custom applications.
Write documentation that describes installation and operating procedures.

5+ years related experience.
Oracle database developer expertise including SQL, PL/SQL, database functions and procedures.
Experience with reporting tools including Argos, Cognos, Crystal Reports or similar products.
Experience using a Oracle SQL development environment such as TOAD or SQL Developer.
Experience with developing reports and systems integrations.
Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors and customers.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent degree program.
Oracle Forms and Reports development experience.
ProC and ProCOBOL development experience.
Oracle HTP built-in web application development.
UNIX/Linux shell script and or cron experience.
Experience with business and higher education applications
Experiencie or knowledge of Ellucian Banner
Oracle developer certification.
Java MVC web application development experience.
Groovy / GRAILS web application development experience.
Other web application development (PHP, Ruby, etc.)
Application consulting experience is highly desired.
