This position will provide planning, instructional design and course development expertise to support technology-based learning. Whatever the responsibilities, you'll have lots of opportunity to make your impact for Ellucian’s client(s).
You will add value by:
• Supporting issues related to faculty and staff utilization of Desire2Learn course management systems. • Supporting faculty members with the integration of technology into teaching and learning, suggesting appropriate tools to support content. • Designing, developing and delivering training materials for faculty and staff, in various formats and delivery modes. • Developing curricula to support training for Learning Management Systems (LMS), as well as faculty training on the development and delivery of online and blended courses. • Working collaboratively with faculty to improve student learning using Instructional Design principles including, but not limited to: a. Assessment of teaching practices and technological needs b. Maintain faculty progress through benchmarking standards c. Design and development of appropriate instructional materials • Conducting one-on-one consultations with faculty in regards to best practices, online course design and technology training/needs, and providing support to faculty in development of course content according to quality standards. • Delivering training as part of regular monthly training schedule to university faculty and staff using web conferencing system. • Staying up-to-date on emerging technologies, trends related to e-learning, and developments with course management products, as well as major software tools such as MS Office and SharePoint. • Supporting issues related to faculty and staff utilization of web conferencing platforms. • Participating in technology related committees and serving as a consultant to university technology interest groups, grant projects and initiatives.
What we need from you:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited four year institution, Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology/Design preferred; three to five years related LMS experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Qualified candidates must have experience in planning, developing and implementing technology-based learning within the higher education industry. • Strong skills in building and maintaining stable working relationships with faculty and Academic and IT staff. • Experience in facilitation, training, teaching, negotiation, and consulting within an academic environment. • Knowledge of and interest in Web 2.0, social networking and emerging technologies and how they can be used to enhance the learning experience. • Excellent interpersonal, project management and written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Quality Matters Rubric and its application. • BlackBoard CE8 and/or Desire2Learn administration skills. • Mastery of Adobe Acrobat, Presenter, Captivate, Course Management Systems, Adobe Connect, Articulate, Audacity, Macromedia Flash, Photoshop or related applications. • Experience delivering synchronous training online via WebEx, GoToMeeting, Wimba, Elluminate or a similar synchronous delivery tool. • Knowledge of multimedia instructional technologies.
